Poppy Playtime is a survival horror adventure game where you play as a former employee returning to his old workplace, PlayTime Co. Players have to navigate through a first-person perspective and they must solve puzzles in order to progress further.
Poppy Playtime gameplay is survival horror, a puzzle game. It is played from a first-person perspective, players navigate through the game's world to solve puzzles and interact with the environment. Players can use their GrabPack to interact with the environment, such as using it to hack electrical circuits or to grab objects. A puzzle is solved when you can use the GrabPack to reach a door that has a button that is required to be pressed. An example of a puzzle involves a log on a conveyor belt. You must hack into the conveyor belt and stop the log from moving, so that you can place an object on top of it, hack the conveyor belt again, and allow the log to move, so that the object falls on the button.
The game is 3D, but the environment doesn't look realistic, it is rather cartoonish, with a lot of color and contrast. The characters are stylized, with a big head, small body and large eyes. The resolution is not very high, but it is still enough to immerse in the game. The textures are a mix of cartoon and realistic, with a very limited number of surfaces.
The game itself is interesting, but there's only 1 chapter to play as for now. It is not long enough so you could replay it, so I'd say, the game has average replayability. But, most likely, the developers are going to add more chapters in the future.
I think Poppy Playtime is a very interesting game. The gameplay is unique and the environment is very detailed and beautiful. The game is still in development, so the developers could add more stuff to it in the future, like more chapters and more characters.
